GweGwe Beach Lodge is an all year-round destination, with temperate weather, exciting activities to enjoy and indulge in, no matter what time of the year you visit.
Whether it’s for the Sardine Run (June to end July) or Whale Season (June to August & October to November) or simply to enjoy the many wonders of one of the top bio-hotspots of the world, you can do so in luxurious comfort, with adventurous activities to experience; the rare phenomenon of the Giant Trevally upstream migration, simply relaxing, or community interactions. There is something for everyone, all year round!
Mild Winters, Perfect Summers
Mkambati is a year-round destination, with temperatures that are temperate all year. Our winters are surprisingly mild and our summers lack the debilitating humidity that occurs further up the coast. Sea temperatures climb to between 24°C to 27°C in summer and hover around a very pleasant 19°C to 21°C in winter. Rates vary during the year depending on the season and demand.
- Quiet season: 21 April to 15 June & 1 August to 30 September
- Summer season: 01 March to 20 April & 01 October to 19 December
- Peak Season: Sardine Run from 16 June to 31 July and year-end holidays from 20 December to 6 January 2025
