A Truly Remarkable Place

Every year we take all our staff and their families away for “a company holiday” to connect as we’re dispersed across the country. This is our 4th year, GweGwe was chosen and it exceeds our wildest expectations. This place is incredible! The Lodge is beautifully designed, luxurious, each room perched on he rocks, looking over the bay, with its own private lap pool, but what makes GweGwe special is its situation, the pristine and private coastline and the staff who took care of our every need. They just quietly took over looking after and entertaining the kids which allowed us all to have an absolute blast. And the food was delicious. This was undoubtedly our best trip ever. We have a policy of never going back to the same place twice…by the end of the trip everyone was begging us to come back again next year.

GweGwe is situated in possibly the most magical part of South Africa! Untouched beauty at its finest.. not many places you can watch dolphins and whales all day from the comfort of your room!! My toddler had the time of his life running on the soft sand beach it was truly the most memorable experience ! Yes it’s not the easiest place to get to BUT the best places on earth rarely are! The staff are kind and caring and try their best to accommodate all your requests.. the rooms are beach chic in the best kind of way! We loved the private pools and bath with a view! Stunning experience at a truly exceptional lodge on the Eastern Cape!

GweGwe Beach Lodge was an absolutely spectacular experience – it is definitely among our new “favorite” destinations on the planet. The lodge itself is luxurious and beautifully blended into the natural landscape, with many areas for social activities, gatherings and relaxing. The staff were simply top-notch – attentive, friendly and helpful. And the location!!! Four days was not enough for our active crew – between hikes, mountain bike rides, surfing, fishing, beach activities, game drives and ocean excursions, we were captivated. We were extraordinarily lucky to stay at GweGwe during the July sardine run, which meant we were treated to countless humpback whale, dolphin and marine bird sightings. Snorkeling with the breaching humpbacks in the wild was a highlight I will never, ever forget. Thank you GweGwe, Thank you Natural Selections!
